It would be good when the java function return a null, the ls2J translete it to Nothing and not null because the Nothing is object type and the null is not.
You need use this, if function return "something"
set thing=jo.test()
And you need use this if it return null

A piece of code should NEVER return null or nothing! That is just bad practice. If a function/method can't return anything - it should throw an exception and the caller should handle the exception rather than checking for null/nothing.

Therefore - I demote this request: The language should not encourage bad coding practices.

Bad practice - always throw exceptions.

LS (VB) is the division of the objects (used Nothing) and scalars (using Null or check IsEmpty()).
What you ask is impossible.
